Ex Lars [Reborn Truant] Dark Memory Global Video Debut

Main Post:

Holy moly I finally unlocked Ex Lars after countless hours of grinding. I know I am not the first to unlock him and congratulations to everyone who unlocked him before me!

https://youtu.be/SvFCglxhO8E

Boy I must say I am surprised at what his character skill can do. In the video I did a side by side comparison with 2P vs the stage 10 Witch using the same memories and support characters. Lets just say it was not what I expected. Hope you guys enjoy and for everyone still grinding for their cubes, good luck and stay strong, you will get there.

Also feel free to ask me any questions if you are unsure of anything, I am consistently making guides for this game so feel free to check out my other character guides. Cheerios!

Mannn, I'm almost done with EX Gayle for the final ascension and watching your video is making me doubt 😂. I really like Lars but now after I finish Gayle, I'm not sure whether to focus cubes for EX Levania or him. Honestly I would've gone with Lars for my 1st EX, but i didn't get Celebratory Gayle which is why i went for her instead of Lars. Congrats tho he is just radiates with swag!

Cecilion: From an ex-Global #3

Main Post:

Hi guys. This is my first time posting on this reddit. For the past 4 seasons, I've made it to Mythical Glory. In the 3 most recent seasons, I've mainly used Cecilion. I've also created smurf accounts before to challenge myself to reach Mythic exclusively through soloQ, with pretty good results (also, mostly using Cecilion).

Last season, I played Cecilion so extensively that I reached Global #3. Now, I branch out, play some Mathilda, some Yve, some Pharsa, some Chang'E (I'm a Midlane mage main), but of course, when I think the game will be a tough, long-drawn out one, I always fall back on Cecilion. This season, with 48 games, I have a 91.7% WR with him on my main in MG. In my opinion, he is hands down, the best soloQ mage in the game.

So those are my "credentials" and now, without further ado, here's my guide to the most romantic lover in The Land of Dawn, Cecilion! (I'm also assuming you guys know his passive and Skills already because this isn't an introductory guide, but rather, how to excel with him in high ranks).

BUILD

Let's start of with the build. We all now Cecilion is a mana-hungry mage, and will run out of mana quick if you spam his s1. This can be fixed with his build. I always build mana boots. Make sure to last hit minions if for the regen the boots give. Early game, what I find works for me is s1, 2 basic attacks, s1 and you'll get the last hit ok the first and second minion (provided nobody else is hitting the minions).

Clock of Destiny is an amazing item for Cecilion. The max mana boost of 900 works well with his passive and will help him deal massive damage. Also the HP boost is amazing as well.

Lightning Truncheon is without a doubt, the best item for Cecilion. It turns his damage from decent to "WTF, WHERE DID MY HP GO?!?" In fact, Moonton nerfed Lighting Truncheon because it was so broken with Cecilion.

Those are his 3 main items, but what else should you build? Well, I usually build based on the situation. I like to build defence items such as Dominance Ice (vs atk spd) and/or Twilight Armor (vs hard hitters and critters), depending on the enemy lineup. This makes Cecilion slightly tankier and they both give mana, which helps with his damage as well. Of course, holy crystal is great for that extra burst damage, especially in the late game. Divine glaive for when the enemy decides that you're a pain and wants to athena shield up (or a mixture of magic def items). If my team has more than 1 magic damage dealer, like my core is Gusion and I have a sidelane Guin, or maybe a tank Silvanna, I would switch out DG for Genius Wand because it benefits them as well. I sometimes build Ice Queen Wand for the irritating slow and of course, we all know (or should know), Necklace of Durance vs those pesky regen heroes. I also build Enchanted Talisman if my team is losing very badly and I obviously have to clear a thousand waves of minions and lord coming in. I cannot tell you how many times this item saved my team and brought epic comebacks. I've had epic comebacks from 30 down because of this item, fighting off 3 enhanced lords in the process. WT is also a good item, especially vs Wan2 and Hayabusa. A tip, ult before you freeze and you can regain all your hp back too.

Tldr, my main builds are these:

regular

Demon Boots, CoD, LT, Dom Ice, Holy Crystal, Divine Glaive

1v9

Demon Boots, CoD, LT, ET, Holy Crystal, Divine Glaive

Fk you Esme

Demon Boots, CoD, LT, NoD, Holy Crystal, Divine Glaive

Of course, remember to counter build and adjust the builds accordingly based on what the enemy lineup is like. For example, the enemy Esme is trash and can't stack shields to save her life, I won't NoD.

Playstyle

Cecilion always needs protection. He is easily dived by assassins and no matter how much damage he does, he will get destroyed by a diving assassin who closes the gap so he can't make full use of his s1.

Early game, you're mana hungry, so what I do is, never go last the first 2 uses of his s1 early game. Only in fights or to secure a kill, should you break this rule early game. Of course, once you have a couple of items, you can start spamming more, but never spam too much last the 4th use of s1 until after it refreshes. I also build 1 extra mana necklace after mana boots just for regen. I sell it, or upgrade it to ET, depending on the situation. Also, after I get elegant gem (component of CoD), I rush LT before completing CoD. This is because Elegant Gem regents hp and mana whenever you level up, which will help you stay in the field more and not recall for mana or hp, allowing you to stack faster. LT is needed for the insane damage, do get that first before completing CoD.

I always take the safest route possible, or just follow the trail of my tank when ganking. Remember, every time you die, even in the early game, it's like losing 10-20 stacks. In late game, that's a lot of stacks you just lost. Most of my games with Cecilion, I get 0 deaths. Sometimes I get 1 or 2 but rarely above that (unless it's a super long drawn-out game).

Especially in the late game, you are of utmost importance and the main damage dealer of your team. You should keep in mind your positioning at all times. Make sure you're in a position where the random pub tank can save you if an enemy assassin flanks you. With a team, it's much easier, but you've got to make yourself available to the blind pub tanks.

Also, Cecilion's ult has such a short cooldown, you don't need to save it. Just use it to farm stacks on minion waves or even blue buff (if your jungler already has it, or it's late game and you want it). I also use ult on turtle, lord etc. Of course, if you feel a teamfight is imminent, save the ult for the teamfight. It heals you, and with LT, it can deal surprisingly huge amounts of damage and even secure kills. I once got a random triple kill because of the remnants of my ult, killing Fanny, Khufra and Gusion, when they all seemingly escaped.

Also, remember try not to miss your s1 and always try to land it in the circle, max distance. You get 2 stacks instead of 1 that way. That's only 1 stack more, but it's also double the stacks. In the long run, in makes a huge difference.

Your claw is also a great initiator and secondary cc. It can be done to put enemies under turret out of position, of just used for ganking in general. You can also use it in chain CC to ensure you enemies can never escape and your team can secure the kill. To maximize the use of the claw, you need to be good at predicting enemies' movements as there is a slight delay in animation. It's very satisfying to claw multiple enemies and send them to their doom with your s1.

Emblem

Mage emblem. I like using Impure Rage for the mana regen, but there are games where I use mystery shop for the cheaper items. Honestly, both work amazingly, so it's up to you.

Key stats

To check if you're playing well with Ceci, there are a few "stats" I always try to ensure I hit.

I try to get 200 stacks by the 10 minute mark. It's a challenge at first, but with impure rage and an extra mana necklace after boots, it's very possible. Remember to use your ult as much as you can.

Always at the end of the match, check your hero damage score. It should be at least 30%. Usually I do close to 40% and in really hard carry games, 50+%. He's amazingly painful and if you hit multiple enemies with your s1 with LT, it's game over to that teamfight, your team won.

That's just my little guide to how to use Cecilion at the highest level. There may be points I missed out or points y'all disagree with, so please, let me know. Thanks, and hope this helps you guys get better with my favorite hero in the game!

This. This split-second decision making is what differentiate between a good and average Cecillion players.

No joke, I was once carried by a Cecillion who almost died but Ult+WT and re-engage the enemies with full health.

What you've written here is truly the highest level of Cecillion gameplay. Well done and thank you.

Why does Fidelity Global ex U.S. Index Fund (FSGDX) perform so poorly?

Main Post:

While other major Fidelity index funds seem to perform reasonably well, FSGDX doesn't. I'm aware of many factors that could explain the difference compared to similar funds (e.g. tracking error, cash holdings, expenses), but I'm looking for something more concrete and not speculation.

  1. FSGDX underperforms CWI which tracks the same exact index at a much higher expense ratio (0.30% vs. 0.12%).
  2. FSGDX also underperforms VFWAX (which should be relatively similar since both funds lack small cap, and yes it's a different index as I note below).
  3. Basically, the 3 and 5 year performance numbers are terrible and the difference in performance is much larger in magnitude than the expense ratio. VFWAX, VTIAX, CWI, and IXUS all outperform FSGDX over the long run.

Also, when comparing the US total stock market offerings of Vanguard and Fidelity, the difference is much smaller, just 0.02% per year (although the Fidelity fund has significant capital gains distributions which is not ideal for a taxable account).

Here's a listing of the 1, 3, and 5 year total return of the major "total international" index funds. I use quotes because only VTIAX and IXUS include small-caps.

Index Fund 1 Year 3 Year 5 Year Index Tracked VTIAX 20.80 1.20 4.17 FTSE Global All Cap ex-US VFWAX 20.79 1.21 4.03 FTSE All-World ex-US FSGDX 20.64 0.64 3.57 MSCI ACWI ex-US CWI 19.67 1.43 3.89 MSCI ACWI ex-US IXUS 20.50 1.26 — MSCI ACWI IMI ex-US

Edit:

Don't get too caught up on CWI here. Ultimately the question is whether FSGDX can be expected to continue this pattern over the coming years. If yes, then it may be worth trying to avoid this fund in favor of one of the Vanguard funds. CWI is not the best fund either, it just happens to be tracking the same index.

I also added a few clarifications to the first paragraph.

Top Comment: When I look at the top 10 holdings for all of these, FSGDX is different in sector allocation and top 10 hodlings. In fact, FSGDX's top holding isn't even in the others that I could see. When I look at all of them, FSGDX stands out as being the one that is more different than all the others with its top holding being Mini Msci Eafe Fut Mar17 Mfsh7. Whatever that is. Not that is necessarily the answer, it just stands out as a possible answer.

What is the right % for ex-US?

Main Post:

VT has 60% US, 40% ex-US Many people on this sub recommend 20-30% ex-US Mr Bogle himself recommended some allocation of ex-US, but he put 100% in US.

Top Comment: depends on whether you consider ex-US as a different asset class from domestic or not. If you think both US and ex-US are the same asset class, then stick to market cap weight. Otherwise, it's a personal preference, which means no correct answer.
